Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with a focus on financial management and reporting. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes.

Duties

Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to maintain accurate financial records. Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations. Perform financial report writing and interpretation for management review. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis to support corporate finance initiatives. Ensure adherence to SOX compliance and regulatory reporting requirements. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, or Xero for various accounting tasks. Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on technical accounting issues. Conduct audits and assist with governmental or non-profit accounting as necessary. Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger for accurate financial tracking.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with various financial software applications. Strong knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, and financial concepts. Familiarity with securities law, wills, trusts & estate law, private equity, and public accounting is advantageous. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Experience in financial statement preparation, auditing, regulatory reporting, and technical accounting. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks effectively. Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
