Maintain the general ledger, process daily transactions (accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries), and perform bank and account reconciliations.
Project accounting:
Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed project budgets and cost estimates.
Monitor and track job costs, and analyze variances against budgets.
Review and process subcontractor and vendor payments and manage purchase orders.
Reporting and analysis:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Conduct financial analysis on project performance and profitability.
Analyze and report on potential financial risks and budgetary discrepancies.
Compliance and audit:
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial policies, accounting standards, and tax laws.
Prepare information and coordinate with internal and external auditors.
Forecasting and budgeting:
Assist with the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
Billing and invoicing:
Prepare and submit invoices for services rendered and manage client billing.
Required skills and qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Experience in accounting, preferably in the construction or contracting industry.
Proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with project managers, vendors, and management.
