Role Overview
The
Accountant
will oversee the full accounting and financial operations cycle across NIAN Ventures and its portfolio entities. This includes daily bookkeeping, payment run preparation, reconciliations, accruals, month-end closings, VAT filings, and support for budget, audit, and consolidation activities.
This role requires strong technical accounting skills, precision, and the ability to manage multi-entity reporting within structured timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Record all financial transactions promptly and accurately in accounting systems.
Maintain ledgers, reconcile accounts, and ensure the completeness of financial data.
Prepare monthly management accounts, trial balances, and supporting schedules.
Assist in portfolio consolidation and reporting to NIAN's senior finance team.
Payments & Cash Management
Process and track invoices in line with the spending approval matrix.
Prepare weekly payment schedules, ensuring dual-authorization controls are met.
Conduct regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Monitor cash flow, highlight risks, and maintain accurate records of vendor payments.
Month-End & Year-End Closings
Prepare accruals, journal entries, and reconciliation schedules.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes in coordination with the CFO.
Compile variance analyses and management reports with supporting commentary.
Ensure timely distribution of financial reports to relevant stakeholders.
Compliance & Audit
Ensure adherence to IFRS, UAE and KSA accounting standards, and internal financial policies.
Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Coordinate with external auditors, respond to queries, and support audit completion.
Maintain organized documentation for all financial and regulatory filings.
Process & Controls
Maintain robust accounting controls and ensure compliance with approval workflows.
Identify opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency in financial processes.
Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks).
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum
3-5 years of experience
in accounting or finance, preferably across group or multi-entity environments.
Strong understanding of
IFRS
, VAT, and audit coordination.
Proficiency in
QuickBooks
with advanced Excel skills.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills in
English
