The Accountant is responsible for managing and reporting the financial data of an organization. This includes preparing financial statements, maintaining accurate books, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare monthly financial reports.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy and compliance.
Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial planning.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Process payroll and related benefits accounting (if applicable).
Maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
Proven experience (typically 2-5 years) in accounting or financial management.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, or similar).
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
