Role Overview
The Senior Accountant will oversee and manage the company's accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting, supplier management, and statutory requirements. The role demands strong technical accounting skills, analytical ability, and leadership in maintaining financial integrity within an international trading and distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accuracy of financial data in the accounting system (QuickBooks / 1C).
Review, post, and reconcile journal entries, supplier invoices, and payments.
Ensure proper maintenance of the general ledger, trial balance, and chart of accounts.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Analyze financial performance, identify variances, and support management with insights and recommendations.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Supervise vendor and customer account reconciliations, ensuring timely settlements and accurate reporting.
Review supplier invoices, purchase orders, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
Manage payment schedules, ensure timely disbursements, and monitor cash flow requirements.
Oversee accounts receivable collections and coordinate with sales and logistics for timely follow-ups.
Banking & Treasury
Manage daily bank transactions, reconciliations, and cash flow forecasting.
Handle international wire transfers, LCs, and foreign currency payments.
Oversee petty cash and staff expense management processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
Import & Export Accounting
Review and verify import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and airway bills.
Coordinate with logistics and procurement teams to ensure accurate recording of shipment costs, duties, and freight charges.
Maintain costing reports and ensure accurate allocation of landed costs to inventory.
Compliance, Audit & Reporting
Oversee VAT filing processes, ensure accuracy of input/output tax reports, and maintain supporting documentation in compliance with UAE FTA regulations.
Ensure all financial activities comply with accounting standards (IFRS) and company policies.
Prepare and coordinate with internal and external auditors for statutory and compliance audits.
Support the Finance Manager in developing and improving financial policies, procedures, and controls.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
Streamline accounting workflows and improve process efficiency.
Support in ERP/accounting system enhancements and automation initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (CPA / ACCA qualification preferred).
Minimum 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in trading, logistics, or Retail Luxury sectors.
Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, 1C, or equivalent ERP systems).
Strong command of MS Excel and financial reporting tools.
Thorough knowledge of UAE VAT and relevant FTA compliance.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
