Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant responsible for managing end-to-end accounting functions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and effective financial control across trading and finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate bookkeeping records, including preparation and reconciliation of the general ledger in compliance with applicable accounting standards. Perform month-end closing activities and prepare the Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Statement, and Balance Sheet. Prepare Trust Receipts (TR), Letters of Credit (LC), bank payments, and supplier settlements related to finance and trading transactions. Prepare daily cash flow reports and maintain liability schedules to monitor collection timelines against bank repayment obligations, ensuring deal maturity adherence, timely settlements, and effective exposure management. Monitor and record inventory movements, ensuring accurate valuation, reconciliation, and traceability. Prepare and submit ageing reports for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Inventory. Perform regular reconciliations of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, bank accounts, related party balances, petty cash, and cash collections. Ensure compliance with VAT regulations, including Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM), customs duties, and import regulations; coordinate with tax consultants for VAT workings and return submissions. Prepare monthly schedules for accruals, provisions, and other adjustment journal entries. Liaise with operations and administration teams to support business activities and ensure alignment of financial records with operational transactions. Review invoices posted by the invoicing team to ensure accuracy, completeness, and VAT compliance. Assist during external audits and provide supporting documentation for corporate tax filings and other statutory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills :

Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes. Hands-on experience with VAT compliance, RCM, customs duties, and import regulations. Experience in banking instruments such as LC and TR is preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and external consultants.
