Core Responsibilities for accountant position

Financial Reporting: Prepare and publish accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income (P&L) statements.

General Ledger Management: Manage all accounting transactions, including preparing manual journal entries and ensuring the chart of accounts is maintained in accordance with best practices.

Reconciliations: Conduct month-end and year-end close processes and reconcile various accounts (e.g., bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and intercompany accounts).

Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, and analyze variances between actual and budgeted expenses.

Tax and Compliance: Compute taxes, prepare tax returns, manage tax payments, and ensure compliance with all applicable local and national regulations (e.g., IFRS, GAAP, SOX).

Auditing and Internal Controls: Organize and conduct internal audits, support external auditors, and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.

Financial Analysis: Monitor and analyze financial trends, track capital expenditures, and provide financial analysis to management for strategic decision-making.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education: A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An additional certification like CPA or ACCA is often a plus.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel is essential.

Knowledge: In-depth understanding of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and regulations.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical, mathematical, and time-management skills. The role requires a high degree of integrity, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
