The Accountant will be responsible for managing the company's day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and support in project cost control. The role requires strong attention to detail, experience in auditing, and familiarity with accounting practices in the contracting/construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain general ledger and ensure accurate posting of all accounting entries.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Reconcile bank accounts, suppliers, subcontractors, and client accounts.
Assist in monthly and year-end closing processes.
Record and monitor project-related expenses, revenues, and cost allocations.
Coordinate with project managers to ensure cost control and budget adherence.
Review supplier and subcontractor invoices against project contracts and progress reports.
Process supplier payments and follow up on client collections.
Maintain aging reports and ensure timely settlement of dues.
Verify purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices for accuracy.
Support internal and external audit processes.
Ensure proper documentation and adherence to accounting standards (IFRS / local GAAP).
Identify control gaps and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
4 years of total experience, including at least 1-2 years in auditing.
Experience in a
contracting or construction
company preferred.
