Academic Data Manager - Deira International school
Role Overview: The Academic Data Manager at Deira International School will play a pivotal role in overseeing the management of student data, conducting comprehensive data analysis, and identifying trends using the iSams and Go4Schools systems. This critical position involves analysing data across the entire school to meet both internal and external requirements, aiding in data-driven decision-making to enhance our academic programs and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Oversight and Management:
    • Lead the collection, organization, and management of academic data, ensuring its accuracy, integrity, and compliance with data privacy regulations.
    • Implement rigorous data quality control measures to maintain reliable datasets.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Utilise in-depth analysis of academic data to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that inform improvements in our academic programs.
    • Prepare and present regular reports to administrators, showcasing data findings and compliance with the KHDA inspection framework and success indicators.
  • Database Governance:
    • Manage and maintain academic databases and information systems, ensuring seamless integration.
    • Spearhead data migration, integration, and extraction processes to support reporting and analysis requirements.
    • Collaborate closely with the IT Director to guarantee database security and establish robust backup procedures.
  • Technology Collaboration:
    • Collaborate effectively with IT teams to implement and maintain academic information systems, including student information systems (SIS) and learning management systems (LMS).
    • Contribute to the integration of diverse data sources and systems, creating a unified academic data ecosystem.
    • Oversee annual roll-over procedures, ensuring the preservation of data integrity.
  • Compliance and Security:
    • Guarantee adherence to data protection regulations and institutional policies.
    • Develop and enforce stringent data security protocols to safeguard sensitive academic information.
  • Training and Support:
    • Provide comprehensive training to teaching staff and administrative teams in data entry procedures and the utilization of academic data systems.
    • Offer continuous support and guidance to users in accessing and interpreting academic data.
  • Continuous Enhancement:
    • Collaborate closely with academic departments and administrators to identify areas for enhancement based on data-driven insights.
    • Offer recommendations on optimizing data collection, presentation, and highlighting for analysis.
  • Project Leadership:
    • Manage and oversee academic data-related projects, including data migrations, system upgrades, and software implementations.
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, establish timelines, and manage budgets while ensuring up-to-date documentation for systems and processes.
  • Communication Facilitation:
    • Facilitate seamless communication and coordination between academic departments, administrators, and IT teams regarding data-related needs and initiatives.
  • Standardized Assessments Management:
    • Collaborate with Assistant Heads of Schools to coordinate, schedule, and administer termly testing of baseline assessments, such as ALPS and CAT4.
