The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for delivering the following duties to ensure effective cost and contract management across the project lifecycle:
Should have good experience in Post Contract. Preferably in the UAE.
Conduct site visits
as necessary to support the effective execution of responsibilities.
Participate in commercial meetings
with the Contractor and provide comprehensive reports to the Employer.
Advise the Employer
on the cost implications of proposed variations, instructions, and related matters; and where variations are approved, provide cost assessments accordingly.
Support the Employer
in evaluating Variations submitted by the Contractor under the Construction Contract.
Ensure all "daywork" claims
submitted under the Construction Contract are appropriately reviewed, negotiated, and settled.
Assist in valuing and resolving
any claims under the Construction Contract and in agreeing the final statement or account with the Contractor.
Monitor project expenditure
and provide monthly cost reports to the Employer up to the issuance of the Final Certificate. Notify the Employer promptly of any potential budget overruns.
Update and review monthly cash flow forecasts
for each project component, advising the Employer and relevant financial stakeholders of any concerns or deviations.
Evaluate and advise
on payments for off-site goods and materials, in coordination with the Project Architect and Specialist Engineering Consultants.
Negotiate and finalize
interim and final accounts with the Contractor as per the Construction Contract.
Provide cost data
and support the Employer in marketing, advertising, or negotiating leases or sales related to the Project (where applicable).
Draft, finalize, and issue Purchase Orders
to vendors in coordination with the Project Team.
Monitor and report on excluded work costs and
assist in negotiating and calculating cash allowances for prospective tenants or buyers for their fit-out works.
Assist the Employer in enforcing
contractual remedies against the Contractor when required.
Support the Employer in defending
against any contractual claims made by the Contractor.
Keep the Employer informed
about site activities, delays, conflicts, and other relevant developments.
Undertake any general services
necessary during this stage of the project as needed.
Perform additional tasks
as assigned by the Line Manager relevant to the role.
