Role Summary:
The Evening Shift Workshop Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all workshop operations during the evening shift to ensure smooth workflow, timely job execution, and adherence to company standards. This role supports the Floor Manager in maintaining continuity of service, managing floor staff, and ensuring that service quality and productivity remain high throughout the shift.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Floor Operations Management:
Monitor and manage all ongoing jobs, ensuring work is progressing according to plan and timelines.
Allocate bays and jobs based on technician skill sets and workload distribution.
Address any delays or technical escalations and inform the Floor Manager where necessary.
Ensure all required tools, equipment, and parts are available and functional during the shift.
Manage proper documentation and updates in Zoho and other systems.
Ensure unused parts and consumables are returned or accounted for per company policy.
2. Team Supervision & Coordination:
Supervise technicians, team leaders, QC staff, and quick lube personnel during the shift.
Conduct shift briefings and ensure all team members are aware of priorities and customer requirements.
Monitor technician productivity, discipline, and compliance with SOPs.
Provide real-time guidance and feedback to technicians to ensure quality of work.
Coordinate with the Parts Store and Dispatch team to ensure workflow continuity.
3. Handover & Reporting:
Prepare and document a daily shift-end report highlighting job status, challenges, incidents, and pending issues.
Communicate effectively with the Day Shift Floor Manager for smooth transition between shifts.
Log and escalate unresolved issues requiring follow-up in the next shift.
4. Customer Satisfaction & Quality:
Assist service advisors in updating customers on work progress during evening hours (when required).
Ensure repair quality is up to standard and any post-repair checks (QC) are done thoroughly.
Minimize repeat jobs and ensure all customer complaints received during the shift are logged and addressed.
5. Compliance and Safety:
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and housekeeping standards.
Address any safety incidents immediately and escalate as per procedure.
Enforce company policies and core values, promoting a positive and accountable workshop culture.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 12 years of experience in an automotive workshop environment, with at least 5-7 years in a supervisory role.
Strong technical knowledge with certifications of multi-brand vehicles and workshop processes.
Experience in managing a team under time-sensitive conditions.
Familiarity with job card systems such as Zoho or equivalent.
