The Wood Polisher is responsible for finishing, polishing, and restoring wooden surfaces, furniture, and fixtures. The role involves preparing wood, applying stains, varnishes, lacquers, or paints, and ensuring a smooth, durable, and aesthetically pleasing finish.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare wooden surfaces by sanding, cleaning, and filling cracks or imperfections.
Mix and apply stains, sealants, varnishes, lacquers, and other finishing products.
Buff, polish, and wax wood to achieve a smooth and glossy finish.
Match colors and finishes as per client requirements or specifications.
Repair, restore, and refinish old or damaged furniture and wooden fixtures.
Ensure proper use of hand tools, buffing machines, spray guns, and polishing equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Follow safety procedures when handling chemicals and polishing materials.
Inspect finished products for quality and consistency.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in wood polishing, carpentry, or furniture finishing.
Knowledge of wood types, finishing materials, and polishing techniques.
Ability to mix and match stains/finishes to required shades.
Skilled in using polishing tools and equipment.
Attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
Physical stamina for manual and detailed work.
Basic knowledge of workplace safety.
