Wireline Maintenance Technician - ADNOC Group - Abu Dhabi, UAE
Position Overview
ADNOC Group is seeking a Wireline Maintenance Technician to perform redressing, maintenance, inspection, and repair of all wireline tools to ensure safe, reliable, and timely wireline operations. The role supports field crews, maintains inventory, ensures certification compliance, and upholds ADNOC's operational and HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow wireline operation procedures and tool specifications to ensure safe maintenance activities.
  • Perform redressing, repair, inspection, and preventive maintenance of all wireline tools.
  • Maintain the wireline store, monitor stock levels, and report shortages or deficiencies.
  • Verify that newly received tools and equipment match purchase orders, and update the inventory accordingly.
  • Provide emergency repair support to crews during urgent operational needs.
  • Redress safety valves returned from field locations and ensure proper function.
  • Apply updated color codes to lifting equipment based on company standards.
  • Ensure all downhole tools undergo required testing and certification every six months.
  • Conduct inspections such as NDT and MPI in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Prepare and assist with monthly surface pressure testing for surface pressure equipment.
  • Follow approved policies, systems, processes, and procedures to achieve maintenance objectives.
  • Support competency-based training for UAE Nationals through on-the-job guidance.
  • Maintain tools, safety gear, and equipment in proper working condition, arranging replacements when needed.
  • Complete maintenance work within assigned timeframes, reporting resource needs to the supervisor.
  • Identify improvement opportunities in procedures, equipment, and maintenance practices.
  • Comply with all ADNOC HSE policies and participate in emergency response duties.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.
  • Collect field data and provide inputs for progress reports, method statements, and near-miss reports.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external service providers, and relevant authorities as required.
Ideal Profile
  • Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate with vocational training in a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in wireline tool maintenance or related oilfield maintenance operations.
  • Knowledge of downhole tools, surface pressure equipment, safety valves, lifting equipment, and inspection techniques.
  • Familiarity with NDT, MPI, and pressure testing requirements.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and ADNOC HSE practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and support field maintenance activities.
