Our client is a US pipe fabrication company based in Abu Dhabi, the fastest-growing turn-key industrial pipe fabrication organization in the world is seeking to hire a Welding Engineer.
We are seeking highly motivated individuals to perform the functions of a Welding Engineer, who will have the responsibility of reviewing project specifications for welding processes, base metal, filler metal, and heat treatment requirements. Develops and writes Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and provide technical support for welder performance testing, welding engineering support for construction projects, maintenance sites, and proposal efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review project specifications and Codes & Standards to develop welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes, pre- and post-heating requirements which involve use of complex alloys, unusual fabrication methods, welding of critical joints, and complex post-heating requirements.
- Develops and maintains corporate welding procedures (WPS)and welder performance qualification records (WPQRs)
- Develop, qualify, write, and certify PQR(s) and WPS (s) for client review and approval.
- Coordinate welding procedure qualification requirements with the metallurgical testing laboratories
- Oversee and witness welding of PQR test coupons(s)
- Review, comment and approve supplier welding procedures and welder performance qualifications.
- Provide technical support as related to industry standards, specifications, and codes such as ASME, AWS, and API
- Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in an applicable Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology, or 5 years of relevant industrial experience
- Minimum of 5 years of responsible experience in welding engineering/welding technical support
- Foundational to strong familiarity with Welding Procedures Code
- Proficient with the utilization of Microsoft Office products including familiarity with Excel, Power Point & Word
