• Review tender documents pertaining to offshore scope and provide technical and commercial input regarding material, welding, inspection and non-destructive testing aspects.
• Arrange for materials and consumables required for qualification of welding procedure and welders at offshore welding school.
• Provide technical clarifications regarding materials and welding/NDT (Non-destructive testing) aspects to project teams during project engineering/procurement/execution stage.
• Maintain Automatic Pipeline welding equipment, semi-automatic welding equipment and accessories.
• Assist Lead welding Engineer to develop and establish welding procedure specifications and arrange for qualification of the same for various projects complying with applicable code and client\'s specifications.
• Co-ordinate with welding superintendent for training and qualification of adequate number of welders / welding operators to meet project requirements.
• Report any problems related to welding/quality during project execution and provide advice to welding/QC personnel to resolve any welding/inspection related issues.
• Ensure mobilization of adequate welding equipment, spares, accessories and consumables to the barges prior to offshore campaign.
• Participate in technical discussions within the company and with the clients, vendors and sub-contractors to resolve matters related to welding.
• Initiate and contribute to introduce new welding equipment/accessories, new welding techniques/methods and new welding consumables to improve the quality standards and economy of welding performed within the company.

• Bachelor\'s degree in metallurgical or mechanical engineering.
• 3-5 years of post-qualification experience, should be well conversant with latest welding technology of various materials used in Offshore, oil and gas or heavy fabrication industry.
• Should have good working knowledge of various international welding codes i.e. AWS, ASME, ISO, DNV, API, BS, etc., related to materials, welding and inspection.
• Good knowledge of quality assurance and quality control methods and procedures related to fabrication industries.
• Good standard of written and spoken English and good Communication skills.
