The Welder Fabricator is responsible for carrying out welding and metal fabrication works onboard company-owned vessels and supporting basic carpentry works when required, ensuring safe, strong, and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Perform welding and metal fabrication works onboard vessels (cutting, welding, fitting, and repairs).
Repair and fabricate metal structures, frames, handrails, ladders, supports, and brackets.
Carry out basic carpentry works when required, such as repairing wooden panels, doors, fittings, and minor interior works.
Assist during vessel maintenance, port stays, and dry dock activities.
Follow work instructions from the Chief Engineer or Operations team.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, welding machines, and carpentry equipment.
Maintain clean and safe working areas onboard.
Report completed work, defects, and material requirements to supervisors.
Safety & Compliance
Follow vessel safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and PPE requirements.
Ensure welding and fabrication works are carried out safely without affecting vessel safety or structure.
Report unsafe conditions or hazards immediately.
Qualifications & Requirements
Trade Certificate or proven experience in welding and fabrication works.
Minimum 2-5 years of experience as a Welder/Fabricator (marine experience preferred).
Basic knowledge of carpentry works is required.
Ability to read drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
Physically fit for onboard vessel work.
Physically fit for onboard work
UAE driving license (preferable)
