Job Description

Job Summary:

The Welder is responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing metal components and structures using various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, arc, and gas welding. This role requires the ability to read technical drawings, operate welding equipment safely, and ensure high-quality workmanship that meets industry standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform welding tasks on metal structures, machinery, pipelines, and fabrication components. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols. Select appropriate welding equipment, tools, and materials based on the job requirements. Set up, operate, and maintain welding machines and tools. Inspect welds for quality, strength, and accuracy; perform corrective actions if necessary. Follow safety procedures and wear protective gear (helmet, gloves, goggles, etc.). Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to complete projects. Maintain clean and organized work areas; ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition. Carry out basic cutting, grinding, and shaping tasks as part of the welding process. Keep accurate records of materials used, jobs completed, and any issues encountered.

Qualifications & Skills:

High school diploma or technical certification in welding or metal fabrication. Proven experience (2+years) as a welder in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Proficiency in MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or gas welding techniques. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good physical strength and stamina; able to work in various positions and environments. Basic knowledge of safety standards and welding codes (e.g., ASME, AWS).
