Waste Management Technician \xe2\x80\x93 Basra, Iraq

We are currently seeking a Waste Management Technician to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing efficient waste management services to our client. The Waste Management Technician will be responsible for providing support to operations of the waste facilities and/or processing, loading and shipping activities.

Specific duties may include, but are not necessarily limited to:

• Characterising waste and ensuring compliant handling, repacking, cleaning, sampling and documentation of solid, liquid, hazardous, radioactive, and/or mixed wastes at all times
• Co-ordinating the loading and unloading of waste in the processing facilities and at the waste yards
• Inspecting waste storage containers and facilities and perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment, reporting any issues for timely repairs
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation of waste collection, processing, and shipping activities, including manifests, inventory logs, and incident reports

The successful candidate will have:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in science, engineering or related field is a plus
• 1-2 years previous experience in waste management, environmental services, or a similar field is preferred
• IOSH/NEBOSH Health & Safety certificate qualification desirable
• Chartered Institute of Waste Management WAMITAB Level 1 Award or equivalent
• Knowledge of waste classification, segregation, and disposal regulations in Iraq
• Ability to operate waste processing equipment safely and efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
• Willingness to work in physically demanding environments
• Valid driver\'s license and clean driving record

Salary and benefits:

• This is a full-time resident position in Iraq (6 day working week) with a salary commensurate with experience.
