Job Description

Oversee Planning and Waste Management by establishing a national waste management monitoring network and supervising the development of strategic plans and comprehensive programs to ensure effective waste management practices and alignment with national and environmental objectives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Development of strategic plans and comprehensive schemes in coordination with the relevant sectors. Monitoring of solid waste produced in the Emirate and ensuring environmental issues are reviewed and analyzed about waste management. Establishment of the database in coordination with the Statistical Center Abu Dhabi (SCAD), and the relevant sectors, and the concerned entities in the Emirate. Establish a national waste management monitoring network and ensure waste management schemes are implemented effectively and legal requirements are upheld. Leverage the national waste strategy and policy to inform plans for waste collection and disposal licenses, and policies of minimization and recycling. Liaise with the Environment Policy and Regulations Section to ensure they are provided with relevant feedback to help draft and update required policies and regulations. Ensure all collected data and analysis is shared with the Environmental Information Management division on a regular basis to ensure timely consolidation and reporting. Ensure all data is collected in line with set standards and guidelines. The development of periodic reports on the status of waste management in the Emirate.
