Provides insight & thought leadership on Sustainability matters (central policies, procedures, tools) at OQ Group, under Chief Executive STO scope acting as owner of its standards, framework, and the single point of accountability, bridge with Business units or Asset owners regarding Sustainability matters Globally, by leading centralized consulting services and Centre of Excellence - COEs for OQ Group while providing sustainability framework, and services to all business Units or leaders on how to implement sustainability strategy, Lead all R&D efforts on Sustainability matters, and Oversees the Sustainability performance of OQ Group Globally; in order to support the achievement of its goals and ensure that central policies, procedures, tools and decisions are made taking into account the relevant business/functions needs.
At Corporate Level, leads the Sustainability agenda for the group, define the Sustainability frame, KPIs, consolidate Sustainability results for OQ Group - monthly, annual - to relevant reports for specific local or international stakeholders, while providing advice and guidance to Corporate functions on Sustainability strategic priorities & plans.
Owner of the OQ Annual Sustainability Report.
At Strategic Business Units level, acts as integrator with CEO’s of SBUs sustainability efforts to ensure sustainability agenda is met.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justification’s, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Sustainability Strategy Formulation, Direction & Innovation
Lead the definition of Sustainability framework at OQ group and corporate strategy and Polices
Builds strategic directions on Sustainability actions, programs, plans
Highlight risks and threats to achieving sustainability goals.
Drives cross-SBU strategic interlinkages in a Business – Sustainability formula, with focus on both, Corporate business results and business improvements - strategic, functional and operational level.
Define and build Sustainability metrics and dashboards
Translate the different Bus/ functions demands and requirements into a consolidated OQ Group wide Sustainability business plan and create balanced corporate score card with Sustainability performance indicators to measure success to support the achievement of the OQ’s strategic objectives.
Research Areas for innovation, and continuous improvement in Sustainability, in line with OQ Group Culture - Perform, Collaborate and care
Main interface of Sustainability agenda with respective stakeholders in Oman Investment Authority - OIA
As CoE :
Lead the development of OQ Sustainability affairs strategy and guidelines in line with laws
Lead the development of the corporate consequences matrix and provide group guidelines
Lead the development of the OQ Group Sustainability Engagement Strategy and provides functional expertise to SBU when needed
Oversees the OQ Corporate Sustainability function, including its central policies, procedures, tools to the relevant business/function,
Advise on business sustainability initiatives and lead the draw on the expertise of the Centers of Excellence - COEs to develop and implement the business or functions’ sustainability strategy
Oversees the team for the Research & Development and Planning Sustainability strategy, framework and roadmap programs and protocols into OQ group and the development of those new initiatives in accordance with the business lines and key business priorities; in order to ensure continuous support and engagement with the business.
Oversees the team for the performance management and reporting Sustainability works at OQ by measuring the performance of sustainability function-wise, and adding value to the Social Impact assessment data & environmental impact assessment data recorded from all business functions and Business Units, managing the risk assessments of social and environmental metrics; in order to develop and evaluate opportunities for related projects

Education requirements
Bachelor’s degree - required preferably in Business Management, Engineering, Finance or related field
Postgraduate degree in Business Management
