Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive credit risk assessments for complex FI and NBFI transactions across multiple asset classes
  • Independently manage credit evaluation and approval processes for FI and NBFI proposals
  • Analyze fund structures, investment strategies, asset quality, and identify key credit and structural risks
  • Review term sheets and recommend appropriate credit terms including limits, covenants, amortization schedules, seniority of claims, and event of default provisions
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to protect the bank's credit portfolio
  • Collaborate closely with coverage, product, legal, and risk teams to evaluate exposure and ensure aligned credit decisions
  • Engage with clients and external advisors in complex or exceptional cases to ensure robust credit assessments
  • Monitor ongoing credit exposure at counterparty and product levels, including event-driven and ad-hoc risk analysis
  • Maintain and enhance the overall quality and resilience of the FIG and NBFI portfolio
  • Oversee credit-related documentation including ISDA CSA, GMRA, LMA, and Islamic finance agreements where applicable
  • Track market developments, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to strengthen credit risk frameworks
  • Ensure full adherence to FAB internal policies, regulatory requirements, and credit approval turnaround standards
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Master's degree or MBA preferred
  • Minimum 12 years of banking experience, with at least 5 years focused on FI and NBFI credit assessment and analysis
  • Strong expertise in financial statement analysis, cash flow assessment, and structured lending
  • In-depth understanding of fund structures, capital commitments, and asset quality evaluation
  • Solid knowledge of market risk elements for listed and unlisted entities, including valuation and monitoring frameworks
  • Familiarity with industry-standard legal documentation such as ISDA CSA, GMRA, LMA, and Islamic finance agreements considered an advantage
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of accountability and ownership
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to clearly articulate credit rationale and risk considerations
  • Proven leadership skills with experience working across teams to deliver consistent outcomes
