We are engaged by our client, a leading contract logistics solutions provider, they seek an experienced Transport Manager (Road) leading the road transport organisation\xe2\x80\x99s transport operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead team members to ensure all road transport tasks are efficiently completed
- Oversee interactions with transportation vendors, encompassing contract management and negotiation of rates.
- Follow transportation-related guidelines, alongside safety protocols, union stipulations, and governmental regulations.
- Engage in cooperation with various departments to ensure the fulfillment of transportation requirements, encompassing coordination with warehouse and distribution teams to secure the timely dispatch of goods.
- Establish metrics for transportation performance, uphold report maintenance, and leverage data analysis to identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Recruit and supervise the transportation fleet team, ensuring effective oversight of staff training, development, and performance evaluations.
- Remain abreast of the latest developments and optimal approaches in transportation management.
- Bachelor\'s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- 5+ years of road transport operation expertise running a broad range of vehicles across a large size fleet.
- Outstanding abilities in engaging with customers and stakeholders, adept communication aptitude, expert negotiator, and highly influential.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, along with an aptitude for acquiring and adopting new technologies in a broader sense.
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple shipments and routes.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as necessary.
- Valid driver\'s license and willingness to travel as needed.
