Summary of the Job:
Reporting to the Executive Director, and working closely with the Associate Director, International Veterinary Health, the role combines technical, sales, and marketing capabilities to deliver a unique and valuable offering to the customer, in order to position the company as the partner of choice in the control of transboundary and emerging diseases. The role will focus on the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and Africa. Key responsibilities are developing and maximizing opportunities by achieving a clear landscape of local requirements, and forming relationships with major governments and markets. Strong disease knowledge is required to provide technical advice and training on transboundary diseases to customers, and both local and regional teams. By creating partnerships with governments the position will bring long term stability and security to the department through direct and indirect sales. Identifying new opportunities with emerging diseases to generate and support sales of key products.
Essential Accountabilities:
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Working with local company teams to identify sales opportunities
Technical support of products, requiring significant travel
Meeting with CVOs and government officials in both animal and human health
Identifying upcoming tenders and government requirements for vaccines
Responding to, and helping submit, responses to government tenders
Key account management with main markets
Reporting on political and economic situations that will impact sales plans
Direct impact on business unit performance through generated sales opportunities
Impactful communication to ensure consistent messages and leadership with intergovernmental agencies and governments
Originates ideas and suggests new areas for development through identification of disease gaps.
Works cross functionally with local business units and regulatory teams
Scope and Context:
The International Veterinary Health department of our company's Animal Health covers transboundary and emerging diseases, which are those that have an impact on both animal and human health, and are of concern for governments.
As part of a leading animal health company, our company's Animal Health has a number of products in this field, and is looking to expand the range.
Key account management is important to develop the relationships and understand the needs involved in a complex area of disease control. The position requires the ability to assess different needs and hurdles dependent on the political, economic and social status of the relevant countries.
The successful applicant needs to bring technical, sales and marketing skills to the role in order to properly respond to the needs of the customer and the end user.
Global travel required to meet with governments and to attend conferences.

Minimum Qualifications:
Background & Education:
A veterinary degree is required. Minimum of 3 years in the pharmaceutical industry.
