Job Description

The Senior Technical Officer (Traffic) is responsible for supervising technicians and ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of all traffic signal systems. The role focuses on managing daily field activities, supporting troubleshooting, and maintaining smooth traffic signal functionality.

Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma or bachelor's degree in electrical / Electronics / Traffic Engineering. 5-7 years' experience in traffic signal operations and maintenance. Strong technical knowledge of traffic signal controllers (Tyco Eclipse, ATC, QTC). Hands-on experience in troubleshooting controllers, loops, push buttons, and UPS. Good leadership and communication skills for supervising technician teams.
Supervision & Coordination

Oversee daily activities of traffic signal technicians. Assign tasks for inspections, cleaning, lamp/LED replacements, and fault rectifications. Act as the first escalation point for signal-related issues before referring to the Traffic Engineer.
Traffic Signal Maintenance

Supervise maintenance of traffic controllers (Tyco Eclipse, ATC, QTC), signal heads, pedestrian push buttons, SPS, EVPS, loops, feeder pillars, and UPS. Ensure proper signal timings, alignment, and safe operation after maintenance. Verify cabling, ducting, poles, and civil elements associated with traffic junctions.
Technical Support

Provide hands-on support in controller troubleshooting and SCATS connectivity issues. Assist in restoring communication and reprogramming controllers when required. Support testing and commissioning new or upgraded traffic junctions.
Documentation & Reporting

Maintain daily logs of maintenance works, faults, and repairs carried out. Record changes in controller configurations and junction layouts. Report persistent issues or repeated faults to the Traffic Engineer.
Team Leadership

Guide and mentor traffic signal technicians in troubleshooting methods. Ensure technicians follow safety standards while working on live signals. Manage technician scheduling for night shifts, emergency callouts, and routine works.
