ITC accomplishes this mission through a best-in-class trade compliance program that includes identifying institutional risks; optimizing processes and technologies to drive continuous improvement. Play a pivotal role in our global strategic compliance team As a Trade Compliance Specialist you will be responsible for supporting the direction, implementation and deployment of an industry best practice compliance program in UK, EU and globally. Focus will be placed on process integration for economic sanctions, export controls and licences, import compliance and restricted parties screening, into key business and functional procedures via the corporate ITC Playbook. You will be responsible for:
  • Collaborating with the wider ITC group helping them establish direction, policies and procedures to ensure trade compliance across all business functions.
  • Managing a range of global trade issues including export controls, economic sanctions and licensing requirements, end use/user and destinations countries to ensure compliance with EU, UK, USA regulations and other international trade compliance laws.
  • Monitoring, analysing and advising on impacts of regulatory changes in UK and EU to guide the business. Driving an effective strategy to reach out the different Baker Hughes´ business units to learn about their needs and communicate ITC requirements for planning purposes.
  • Participate in the ongoing Legal or Compliance teams meetings create specific ITC focused committees and deliver ITC trainings when needed.
  • Conducting due diligence, risk assessments, third parties screening and escalations, such as on customers, vendors and subcontractors.
  • Support customs and export compliance matters escalated by Supply Chain, Logistics or Customs teams, in the application of in-country import or export compliance controls.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you would need to:
  • Have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in the legal or regulatory trade compliance sector including economic sanctions, import/export compliance, due diligence and restricted parties screening. Shorter experience would also be considered if you have an actual and proved interest in developing your career in this field.
  • Show exceptional analytical skills with astute attention to detail with an aim to review ITC regulations and contracts.
  • Be a team player to work with cross functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Have a consultative and forward-thinking mindset, knowing how to influence stakeholders towards regulatory education, compliance and planning in a constant-changing scenarios.
  • Be a fluent communicator in the English Language, with bilingual capacity in other European language.
  • Use software screening tools and prepare reports.
