Parsons is seeking an experienced

Ticketing Expert

to join team for a major rail project in the UAE. The successful candidate will provide

technical leadership, design review, and independent assurance

for all aspects of

Automated Fare Collection (AFC) and ticketing systems

, ensuring compliance with project specifications, operational requirements, and international standards.


The role focuses on

design review, system integration oversight, contractor monitoring, and operational readiness

, ensuring the ticketing systems are secure, reliable, user-friendly, and fully integrated with other rail systems such as the OCC, signaling, and rolling stock.

What You'll Be Doing:

Provide technical expertise and independent assurance for

AFC and ticketing systems

, including fare collection devices, smart cards, mobile ticketing, contactless payments, and back-office systems. Review and approve contractor

design submissions, specifications, system architecture, and operational workflows

to ensure compliance with project and operational requirements. Ensure ticketing system designs and implementation meet

project, safety, regulatory, and operational requirements

, and align with international standards. Evaluate contractor

implementation, testing, and commissioning plans

, ensuring reliability, security, and performance of the ticketing systems. Assess

integration with OCC, signaling, telecommunication, revenue management, and operational systems

. Participate in

design review workshops, coordination meetings, and interface management sessions

as the AFC and ticketing SME. Provide recommendations for

risk mitigation, operational efficiency, and performance optimization

for AFC systems. Support

handover, operational readiness, and certification

processes for ticketing systems. Prepare technical reports, dashboards, and recommendations for senior management and the Client regarding system compliance and performance. Mentor PMC team members on AFC and ticketing system design, integration, and best practices.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Bachelor's Degree

in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline.

Minimum 15 years of professional experience

in

railway AFC, ticketing systems

. Proven expertise in

automated fare collection, smart ticketing, contactless payments, and back-office revenue management systems

. Strong knowledge of

systems integration, cybersecurity, operational performance, and reliability standards

for rail ticketing. Familiarity with

international rail AFC standards

Experience coordinating interfaces between

AFC, OCC, signaling, telecom, and rolling stock systems

. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency in design and review tools such as

AutoCAD, system modeling, or specialized AFC software

. Previous experience on

UAE or GCC rail projects

is highly desirable.
