Parsons is seeking an experienced

Track Works Expert

to join our team for a major rail project in the UAE. The successful candidate will provide

technical leadership, design review, and assurance oversight

for all permanent way (track) design and construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and best engineering practices.


This role focuses on

design review, quality assurance, interface coordination, and contractor oversight

, ensuring that the track systems are designed, constructed, and commissioned in line with performance, safety, and operational requirements.

What You'll Be Doing:

Provide

technical expertise and assurance

on all aspects of track design, alignment, materials, and construction methodologies. Review and approve

track design submissions

, specifications, drawings, and calculations to ensure compliance with project and international standards. Oversee the

design review process

, ensuring constructability, maintainability, and interface integration with civil, systems, and rolling stock disciplines. Evaluate

contractor design and construction methodologies

, ensuring alignment with project requirements and safety standards. Monitor and assess

track installation, welding, stressing, and alignment works

through audits and site inspections. Provide oversight on

track geometry, tolerances, and quality control

processes, ensuring compliance with acceptance criteria. Review and comment on

track material specifications

, procurement schedules, and inspection/testing procedures. Support

interface coordination

between track, civil structures, depots, and system packages to ensure seamless integration. Participate in

technical workshops, coordination meetings, and design reviews

as the subject matter expert (SME) for track works. Support the Client in evaluating technical submittals, design changes, and variation proposals related to track works. Ensure all designs and works comply with

UAE regulations

,

project-specific standards

, and

international best practices

. Prepare reports, technical notes, and recommendations for design compliance, risk mitigation, and construction readiness. Support testing, commissioning, and handover reviews from a track system perspective.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Railway Engineering

(Master's degree preferred).

Minimum 15 years of professional experience

in

track design, construction, and maintenance

within major

rail, metro, or high-speed projects

. Proven expertise in

ballasted and ballastless track systems

, including slab track, turnouts, crossovers, and special trackwork. Strong understanding of

track-structure interaction

,

alignment geometry

, and

rail material performance

. Experience in coordinating interfaces between track, civil, and systems (signalling, traction power, telecoms). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency in design and review tools such as

AutoCAD, Bentley Rail Track, or similar software

. Fluency in

English

(Arabic proficiency is an advantage). Previous experience on

UAE or GCC rail projects

is highly desirable.
