Job Summary
The Technical QC Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all products and processes meet established standards of quality, reliability, and performance. This role involves conducting detailed inspections, performing tests, analyzing data, and documenting results to identify deviations and drive continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is meticulous, analytical, and possesses a strong understanding of technical specifications and quality principles.
Key Responsibilities

  • Inspection & Testing:
  • Perform thorough inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods using various methods (visual, dimensional, functional).
  • Operate specialized measuring and testing equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs, gauges, vision systems, software testing tools).
  • Conduct performance, reliability, and compliance tests according to detailed procedures and work instructions.
  • Execute software test cases to validate functionality, performance, and security.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Accurately record inspection and test data in quality logs, databases, and reports.
  • Document non-conformances and generate detailed reports on defects, failures, and deviations from specifications.
  • Maintain clear and organized quality control records for traceability and audits.
  • Non-Conformance Management:
  • Identify, isolate, and tag non-conforming products or materials.
  • Initiate and support the containment, corrective, and preventive action (CAPA) processes.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to investigate root causes of quality issues.
  • Calibration & Maintenance:
  • Perform routine calibration and maintenance of QC equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Track calibration schedules and maintain equipment logs.
  • Compliance & Standards:
  • Ensure all activities comply with company policies, industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, GMP), and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Provide feedback to production teams to enhance quality at the source.
  • Suggest improvements to quality control processes and testing methodologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science) or equivalent relevant experience. A Bachelor's degree may be preferred for senior roles.
  • Experience: [X] years of experience in a technical QC, QA, or inspection role within a [e.g., manufacturing, software, pharmaceutical] environment.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometres, height gauges, optical comparators).
  • Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and basic data analysis.
  • (For software) Experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Selenium, TestRail) and scripting languages.
  • Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and a commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification from a recognized quality organization (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector - CQI, Certified Software Tester - CSTE).
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
  • Experience using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) or other advanced metrology equipment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
  • Proficiency with quality management software (e.g., SAP QM, MasterControl).
Working Conditions
  • This role may be performed in a manufacturing environment, lab, or cleanroom, which may involve exposure to noise, chemicals, or other physical hazards. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas.
