To supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the service workshop, ensuring efficient repair and maintenance of commercial vehicles. The Team Leader is responsible for managing a team of technicians, maintaining high service quality standards, and ensuring timely vehicle delivery to meet customer satisfaction and business targets.
Key Tasks :
Workshop Operations
Plan, allocate, and monitor daily repair and maintenance tasks among technicians.
Ensure all vehicles are serviced and repaired as per manufacturer and company standards.
Review job cards for accuracy and completeness before and after work completion.
Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices in the workshop.
Team Supervision
Lead, guide, and motivate technicians to achieve productivity and efficiency targets.
Monitor performance and provide on-the-job training and coaching.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workshop area.
Quality Control
Conduct quality checks on completed jobs to ensure repairs are done correctly.
Identify recurring technical issues and coordinate with the Service Manager for resolution.
Implement corrective measures to minimize rework and comebacks.
Customer Service Support
Coordinate with service advisors on job status and estimated completion times.
Support technical issue resolution to ensure timely vehicle delivery.
Assist in handling customer complaints related to technical work quality.
Administration & Reporting
Ensure job cards, time sheets, and service reports are accurately completed and submitted.
Report on workshop performance, productivity, and quality issues to management.
Maintain records of technician attendance, training, and performance evaluations.
Safety and Compliance
Ensure compliance with ISO or other quality standards applicable to the workshop.
Enforce adherence to company safety, environmental, and operational policies.
Qualifications & Skills required :
Diploma or Technical Certificate in Automotive Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in commercial vehicle servicing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leader role
Strong technical knowledge of heavy vehicles, buses, and trailers
Familiarity with diagnostic tools and service management systems
