We are seeking a Systems Interface and Integration Manager a part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH UAE Branch. In your role, you will be providing support to the DB E&C team on site in UAE and in Oman.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and controlling the project\xe2\x80\x99s Systems Integration and internal and external Interface Management activities. This includes but not limited to, interfaces between various working packages for Railway systems and infrastructure, with Rolling stock manufacturers, the future Rail Operator and various other stakeholders
  • Preparing and agreeing with the client on an Interface Management Plan defining and describing the activities, roles and responsibilities to manage the identified interfaces
  • Overseeing, establishing and maintaining a systematic, documented, comprehensive, and verifiable Systems Integration and Interface Management process to be applied throughout the whole duration of the project
  • Liaising with the other disciplines and suppliers to ensure proper configuration of the systems for all aspects of the project;
  • Working closely with Systems Assurance & RAMS Manager and Testing & Commissioning Manager and provide oversight of systems integration and acceptance testing including procedures, documents, and approval steps
  • Reviewing and approval of Interface Control Documents submitted by the Contractors including the design, procurement, manufacturing, construction, testing, commissioning and handing-over interfaces
  • Reviewing and approval of the Contractors\xe2\x80\x99 Coordinated Interfaces Programs (CIP) and ensuring that the Contractors are complying with the CIP access dates. Controlling documents submitted by the Contractors including the design, procurement, manufacturing, construction, testing, commissioning and handing-over interfaces
  • Evaluating design changes and impacts on the system interfaces and develop and coordinate Interface Control Documents and Systems Interface Matrix
  • Providing direction to the engineering experts of the Team in order to achieve specified technical requirements/ schedules;
  • Ensuring rail system and/or vehicle modifications are compatible and integrate with new or existing systems or vehicles;
  • Identifying, initiating, and implementing corrective actions and process improvement methodologies in line with cost reduction and lean organization
  • Writing and submitting periodic reports and documentation as well as collecting operational performance & RAM statistics
  • Performing other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
Qualifications:

  • University degree, preferably a Master\'s degree in in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • 15 years\' experience in Railway Projects with minimum of 10 years\' design and construction experience in Rail Projects, work experience in GCC region would be of advantage
  • Several years of professional experience in senior managerial roles
  • Candidate shall have held the same position for at least one major railway project
  • Experience with the design and integration of rail electrical and mechanical systems, including signaling, telecommunication, train control, rolling stock, etc.
  • Knowledge of railway signaling (ETCS), communication (GSM-R), rolling stock, including requirements management software is preferred
  • Track record of interface management, systems integration, assurance and acceptance tests; experienced with Interface Management Software
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematic diagrams; familiarity with scheduling software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, MS Teams and Share Point Online.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, English written and verbal fluent, are essential to success in this role
  • Good understanding of European and North American railway standards
  • Analytical thinking & problem-solving skills
