Job Description

Al Tamimi & Company is hiring a Systems engineer to manage and support the Firm\xe2\x80\x99s IT Systems and networks to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business systems.
Duties & Responsibilities Strategy & Planning
  • Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers.
Acquisition & Deployment
  • Coordinate with users, first, second line support and suppliers to implement desktop, server network systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives.
Operational Management
  • Provide user support and administration in respect of the Firm\xe2\x80\x99s Enterprise systems and networks according to from agreed SLAs.
  • Manage communications and connection solutions, including workstation connectivity, local area networks, company Web site, intranet, and Internet applications.
  • Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance with business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers, laptops, and workstations. Escalate incidents as necessary.
  • Analyze system, server, application, network, and desktop/laptop devices performance.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases.
  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts.
  • Create required reports in response to system availability and SLA requirements.
  • Participate in negotiations with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure software products and services.
  • Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.
  • Manage and/or provide guidance to first line support team members.
  • Create training material and provide ad hoc training on Enterprise Applications
Requirements & Personal Attributes Formal Education & Certification
  • University degree in the field of computer science (or equivalent) and/or 7 years equivalent work experience.
  • Certifications in ITIL, MSCE, A+, N+
Knowledge & Experience
  • 5 years + MS Azure
  • 5 years + MS Exchange/ O365
  • 5 years + networking and firewalls
  • High level of skill in MS Office suite
  • 5 years + experience in supporting enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, etc.)
  • Proven experience in VDI technologies (advantageous)
  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Expert scripting and PowerShell
  • Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information.
  • Knowledge of applicable IT Security and data privacy practices and laws.
  • An understanding of Lean Principles

Work Conditions
  • Evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
  • Some travel may be required for the purpose of off-site software installation.
  • Physically able to participate in sessions, presentations, and meetings.
