Job Description

To supervise and coordinate preventive maintenance activities for pumping station equipment, ensuring reliability, efficiency, safety, and compliance with operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive maintenance (PM) activities for pumping station equipment including pumps, motors, valves, piping, VFDs, switchgears, control panels, and associated electrical/mechanical systems. Ensure maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with OEM guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety regulations. Supervise technicians, fitters, and electricians during preventive maintenance tasks and provide technical guidance. Monitor equipment performance and identify potential failures through inspections, vibration analysis, thermography, and other diagnostic tools. Prepare and maintain maintenance logs, service reports. Coordinate with operations staff to minimize downtime during maintenance. Ensure availability of spare parts, tools, and materials required for PM schedules. Train and mentor maintenance teams on best practices, safety protocols, and troubleshooting methods. Report recurring issues, recommend corrective actions, and support reliability improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies and implement safe work practices during all maintenance activities.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of pumping station equipment (centrifugal pumps, submersible pumps, motors, VFDs, valves, actuators, and control systems). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and O&M manuals. Leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills. Good communication and reporting abilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). Minimum 8-10 years of experience in maintenance of pumping station equipment, with at least 4-6 years in a supervisory role. Familiarity with predictive and preventive maintenance techniques. Knowledge of safety standards and practices in water/wastewater or utility industries.
