CAFE SUPERVISOR

Purpose of the Position:

To oversee the daily operations of the cafe, ensuring high standards of customer service, product quality, cleanliness, and team performance. The Cafe Supervisor plays a key role in supporting staff, handling customer issues, managing inventory, and maintaining smooth and efficient service during all shifts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the activities of baristas, waitstaff, and other cafe team members during shifts. Ensure all staff provide excellent customer service and maintain a friendly, welcoming environment. Oversee preparation and presentation of coffee, food, and beverages to meet quality and consistency standards. Monitor staff performance, provide on-the-job training, and assist in onboarding new team members. Handle customer complaints, feedback, and special requests professionally and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe, including dining area, counter, and equipment. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company hygiene standards. Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory management, ordering supplies when needed. Open and close the cafe as required, following proper cash handling and end-of-day procedures. Prepare shift schedules and manage team coverage to ensure smooth operation during peak and off-peak hours. Collaborate with the manager to implement promotional activities, improve service flow, and reach sales targets. Maintain daily records such as sales reports, shift notes, and staff attendance logs.

Skills and Abilities:

Proven experience in a cafe, restaurant, or hospitality setting, preferably in a supervisory role. Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills. Ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment and resolve issues calmly. Good knowledge of coffee, beverages, and basic food service. Strong attention to cleanliness, quality, and customer satisfaction. Reliable, punctual, and able to lead by example. Proficiency with POS systems, cash handling, and basic reporting.
