Job Description

Job Summary:

The Supermarket Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the supermarket, ensuring high levels of customer service, managing staff performance, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Supervisor supports the Store Manager in achieving sales targets and smooth store operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise daily store activities to ensure efficient operations. Manage, train, and schedule store staff including cashiers, stockers, and floor workers. Ensure excellent customer service by resolving issues and responding to inquiries. Oversee inventory management: monitor stock levels, manage reordering, and reduce shrinkage. Maintain visual merchandising and store cleanliness to company standards. Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and security. Monitor staff attendance and performance; provide feedback and report to management. Enforce company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for timely deliveries and product availability. Support promotional activities and seasonal campaigns in the store.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Business or Retail Management is a plus) Proven experience in retail, preferably in a supervisory or team lead role Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Good understanding of customer service principles and retail operations Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays Basic computer skills (POS systems, MS Office)
