Substation Equipment Installation And Commissioning Site Engineer
Job Description
To manage and supervise the installation and commissioning activities of substation electrical equipment (HV/MV/LV), ensuring work is completed as per project drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Supervise installation of substation equipment including:
Power transformers
GIS/AIS switchgear
Circuit breakers, isolators, CTs, VTs
Bus ducts and cable trays
Control and protection panels
Earthing and lightning protection systems
Ensure installation is carried out as per approved drawings, method statements, and manufacturer guidelines.
Coordinate with civil and mechanical teams for equipment foundations, trench work, and structural supports.
Monitor site activities to ensure timely and proper installation of equipment with minimum rework.
Ensure all installed equipment is ready for handover to the testing/commissioning team.
Manage installation manpower, tools, and lifting equipment to ensure safe and efficient execution.
Conduct pre-commissioning checks such as mechanical alignment, oil/gas levels, proper terminations, and cleanliness.
Maintain daily progress reports, installation checklists, and documentation as per project requirements.
Ensure adherence to site HSE policies and participate in safety toolbox talks and inspections.
Support the commissioning team during energization preparation and close-out activities
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's or Diploma in Electrical Engineering. 3-7 years of experience in substation installation works (66kV, 132kV, 220kV, or higher). Experience in installation of GIS/AIS, transformers, switchgear, and related substation components. Familiarity with installation standards (IEC, IEEE) and local utility regulations.

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,500.00 per month
