Job Description

The Storekeeper (Material) is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and managing the inventory of materials, tools, and equipment. The role ensures efficient material handling, proper stock maintenance, and accurate record-keeping to support operations and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive, inspect, and verify the quantity and quality of incoming materials. Store materials in designated locations in an organized and secure manner. Maintain proper inventory records using manual logs or inventory management systems. Issue materials to various departments or sites as per approved requests and maintain accurate issuance records. Conduct regular stock checks, physical inventories, and reconcile discrepancies. Monitor stock levels and initiate reordering of materials to prevent shortages. Ensure proper labeling and safe handling of all stored materials. Maintain cleanliness and order in the store area, complying with safety and health regulations. Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and site teams to ensure timely availability of required materials. Report damaged or expired materials and follow procedures for disposal or return.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in inventory or supply chain management is a plus. 2-4 years of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or warehouse operations. Knowledge of materials commonly used in [construction/manufacturing/retail, etc.]. Familiarity with inventory management software and MS Excel. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to lift and move heavy materials when required. Attention to detail and accuracy.
