Storekeeper (Civil / Electrical / MEP)
Job Title: Storekeeper (Civil / Electrical / MEP)
Reports To: Procurement Manager / Site Manager
Location: Construction Site / Warehouse
Job Purpose:
The Storekeeper is responsible for managing the site warehouse and storage areas, ensuring that all materials, tools, and equipment are received, stored, and issued efficiently and securely. They maintain accurate inventory records and support the project by ensuring the right materials are available when needed.
Key Responsibilities:

• Receiving Goods: Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming materials and equipment. Verify quantities and quality against delivery notes and purchase orders. Report any discrepancies or damages.
• Storage and Organization: Safely and systematically store all items in the designated locations, ensuring proper segregation (e.g., civil, electrical, MEP) and conditions (e.g., weather-sensitive, hazardous materials).
• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all stock levels using inventory management systems (manual or software-based). Conduct regular cycle counts and periodic physical inventories.
• Issuing Materials: Issue materials, tools, and equipment to site personnel against approved material requisition forms or work orders.
• Security and Safety: Ensure the store and warehouse are secure, clean, and tidy at all times. Adhere to all health and safety regulations, particularly for hazardous materials.
• Reporting: Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports. Highlight low stock levels, obsolete, or slow-moving items to the procurement team.
• Tool Management: Manage the check-in/check-out process for tools and equipment, ensuring they are maintained and in good working order.
• Coordination: Liaise with the procurement team to coordinate deliveries and with site supervisors to anticipate material needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

• High school diploma. A certificate in storekeeping, logistics, or supply chain management is beneficial.
• Proven experience as a storekeeper or in a similar warehouse role, preferably in a construction environment.
• Experience with specific material types (e.g., electrical components, MEP fixtures, civil aggregates) is a significant advantage.
• Familiarity with inventory management software.
