About the role
GEMS FirstPoint School is looking for an Immediate hire of an outstanding and highly motivated Store Keeper to join our School Operations team. The post holder will provide operational support to the School Operations Manager and to the School Facilities Manager in efficient management of the school facilities. The scope of work includes managing consumable and non-consumable resources within the school; catalogue all inventoried stock; and electronically capture the checking-out of items to students and staff. Apart from that you will be expected to perform other duties as requested by the line manager and to initiate effort and energy beyond the typical work day where tasks require additional commitment.

Duties and responsibilities
  • To manage consumable and non-consumable resources within the school; catalogue all inventoried stock; and electronically capture the checking-out of items to students and staff.
  • To work in liaison with the School Operations Manager in budget preparation.
  • Embrace and encourage the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS Core Values.
  • Adhere to the financial systems and protocols as prescribed by GEMS Finance.
  • Efficiently master and manage the school store to accurate record keeping and storage.
  • Periodic verification of inventory on hand.
  • Process printing orders for reports, letterheads, diaries etc.
  • Assist school Accountant in day-to-day accounting procedures.
  • Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
  • Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical work day, where the tasks require additional commitment.


Experience and skills
  • Library or stock control knowledge is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel and other database systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and an ability to work under pressure.
  • Good English language skills including reading, writing, speaking.
  • Good public relations skills and telephone manner, and a willing ability to multi task.
  • Ability to multi-task and effective organization skills.

    Qualifications Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree/High School Diploma
    • At least 3 years of experience of working in a similar role or an administrative position
