Job Description

The purpose of this position is to assist the Lead Store Keeper to provide effective inventory management and services to Engineering & Maintenance Department of the Dubai Metro.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Inbound Receiving. Offload materials, identify and conduct physical check of the delivery. Oversee offloading of materials and ensure that it matches with the delivery documents. Record received materials in inventory management system to maintain accuracy. Put away all received materials within the allocated area. Segregate received hazardous materials based on type and ensuring MSDS and COSHH are available upon storing. Coordinate with suppliers for rejected materials. Interact with sub-systems for technical inspection of received materials. Uploading of all signed inbound documents in the inventory management system. Provide invoice and all other related inbound documents to Finance department as when required.
Outbound Issuance Accept requests from sub-systems for material and kit issuance. Coordinate with sub-systems for material and kit preparation and issuance. ? Record issued materials in the inventory management system to maintain accuracy. Follow-up with sub-systems for materials issued manually. Receive return materials / assets from sub-systems / kits and process it in the inventory management system. Accept waste return form from sub-systems and guide the technicians on proper segregation & disposal of waste. Prepare kits according to prescriptions edited by Maintenance management and schedule edited by Store management. Populate the kitting preparation zone with materials to be kitted (list provided by Store management) Control and record in the inventory management system all movements of material between store and kitting preparation zone.
Others Tasks Implement / suggest cost reduction initiatives. Record any stock movements in the inventory management system to ensure stock integrity. Perform / coordinate stock audits. Maintain proper housekeeping in the store. Operate forklift truck and other lifting equipment, if legally / officially trained. Handle chemicals and inflammable materials. Packing & unpacking of materials as and when required. Perform and carry out other duties as instructed / directed by superiors.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Basic material handling. General understanding of all aspects of safety issues related to engineering projects.
KEY SKILLS Preferably with folk lift operator license. Possess good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Strong organisational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
EXPERIENCE Minimum 1 year working experience as a store keeper preferably in the rail, transport, auto, heavy engineering or similar industries. Experience in inventory administration, logistics, issuing of materials, housekeeping, and using a computerised inventory management system is preferable.
EDUCATIONAL & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFCATIONS High School or Trade School diploma
