Key responsibilities
Site supervision:
Oversee all steel structure construction activities on-site, ensuring they align with project plans, specifications, and local building codes.
Technical oversight:
Interpret and ensure accuracy of steel structural drawings and blueprints.
Quality control:
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure that materials and workmanship meet quality standards.
Safety and compliance:
Enforce safety regulations and ensure all work is performed in compliance with health and safety policies and legislation.
Coordination:
Liaise with project managers, consultants, qa/qc engineers, and other professionals to ensure project goals are met.
Problem-solving:
Provide technical advice and solutions to on-site challenges.
Planning:
Assist with the development and implementation of project schedules and timelines.
Required skills and qualifications
Education:
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
Experience in structural steel structure construction, with some roles specifying a minimum number of years of experience, such as 1-2 years for junior roles or more for senior positions.
Technical knowledge:
Strong knowledge of steel structure design, fabrication, and construction principles.
Software proficiency:
Proficiency in CAD software like AutoCAD is often required.
