Purpose: Positions holders are responsible for managing or performing work across multiple areas of finance, including financial planning & analysis, financial control, accounting, tax, treasury, accounts payable/receivable, and credit & collections. Activities include financial transaction/data entry, financial data verification, financial records maintenance, and compiling/maintaining ad-hoc financial information.
Accountability Level: Experienced individual contributor (specialist operational/technical role, or experienced professional). Works independently, with limited supervision. Problems faced may be difficult but can be addressed within an established framework
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare the annual statutory accounts for SEA/ME/AIPL entities with supporting reconciliations to the management accounts and underlying systems.
Manage the statutory audits of SEA/ME/AIPL including facilitating the answers to audit queries with the relevant contacts across APS.
Preparation of other supporting schedules as required by the auditors
Work closely with tax manager and adhere strictly to tax filing deadlines for each country ensuring audits are completed well before to facilitate local tax filings
Manage and lead annual audits of entities part of Group audit by facilitating audit queries through liaison with regions ensuring timely completeness in line Group audit deadlines
Working closely with the Tax Manager during tax audits and facilitating collection of supports for tax auditors
Booking the AIPL tax charge including working with the Tax Manager to prepare and forecast tax payments in the monthly reporting pack for AIPL
Analyse prior year against payments received and book PYA entries each year
Coordinate with regional tax managers and prepare JA cost pool allocation and branch allocation working annually
Issue HO allocation invoices to AIPL branches
Analyse tax payments booked in AIPL and AIPL Branch divisions each month ensuring all tax payments are booked in AIPL division including analysing no non-tax payments are booked to tax account
Support AIPL Tax manager with Preparation of the ETR
Tax SAF preparation for AIPL, SEA and ME entities
Prepare the Tax Provisions file, Country-By-Country Analysis file, and Tax Paid by Country file each year to assist Tax with the AIPL Tax Return.
Oversee BPO deliverable on Indirect tax compliance (VAT, WHT, Payroll) while ensuring the returns are filed and paid on time
Manage statutory audits handled by BPO and support/work closely with the team
Work closely with BPO to gather audit supports
Provide suggestions for process improvements and simplification.
Typical Experience: University Degree / Specialised Diploma
5 to 7 years experience in a similar role
