JOB PURPOSE

To assess, train and support with the implementation and customization of Enterprise Resource Planning software solutions in various administrative departments at the University of Sharjah in order to meet their business needs and requirements, and manage ERP software ensuring seamless integration with IT systems.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

Assist the line manager in creating, developing and implementing the IT Center's procedures by monitoring the process and ensuring its compliance with the IT and UOS goals and strategic objectives. Support users by providing system configuration and usage guidance to the HR and Finance users in the following modules to ensure proper administration such as HR-Personnel & Payroll Module, HR-Oracle Discoverer, HR-Employee Self Service, Finance-Account Receivables, Student Reporting, etc. Support the line manager in the development of the Management Information Systems section's KPIs by gathering the necessary data, preparing progress reports and suggesting the best solutions in order to ensure they are achieved successfully. Assist the line manager in related projects that help support and improve the college/department and the University in general, and be an active member of the project team ensuring that all assigned tasks are completed accurately and on time. Follow the UOS's IT standards and guidelines, as well as ensure that all staff members understand and follow the correct policies, procedures and, guidelines, and provide assistance to them when needed. Prepare various reports, analyses and statistics related to the MIS section when requested.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional documents, in both Arabic and English Strong background in Oracle Developer 11g: Forms/Reports, PL/SQL, and SQL with strong emphasis on developing and coding through the use of templates, common packages and object libraries. Ability to define and analyse user requirements; implement best method to retrieve data from Oracle database. Knowledge and experience of System development Life Cycle. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. Experience with Java, Groovy and Grails Web Application development and/or equivalent Web Application development. Able to understand the meaning of common error messages, explain them to users in simple language, and assist users overcome any difficulties. High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance. Works as a competent member of the team, willingly providing backup support for co-workers when appropriate and actively supporting group goals. DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or any related discipline. 8-10 years of UAE experience in similar role preferably in higher education institutions. A Master's degree in a related discipline is a plus. Priority is to UAE Nationals.
