- Develop accurate and detailed 2D and 3D drawings (depending on project needs) based on architectural and engineering specifications.
- Ensure drawings adhere to relevant industry standards, company protocols, and building codes.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to clarify design details and address any discrepancies.
- Maintain and update drawings throughout the project lifecycle as needed.
- Perform precise quantity takeoffs from drawings for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Prepare comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQs) with accurate cost estimates, ensuring clear and understandable breakdowns.
- Analyze and track project costs, proactively identifying potential overruns and proposing solutions for cost optimization.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate favorable pricing.
- Manage procurement processes, guaranteeing timely delivery of materials within budget constraints.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Draftsman, preferably with exposure to construction projects.
- Proficiency in drafting software like AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools, depending on your company\'s preferred platform.
- Solid understanding of quantity surveying principles and practices, including cost estimating, procurement, and cost control.
- Experience with relevant quantity surveying software like CostX or similar tools (a plus).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, adept at identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with diverse teams across departments.
- Meticulous and highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
- Understanding of relevant building codes and construction regulations in your region.
- Experience in a similar combined Draftsman & QS role.
- Additional certifications in drafting or quantity surveying (e.g., MRICS, ACIQS, CQE).
