Job Title: Senior Accountant Dept: Finance

Reports to: Finance Manager

JOB OBJECTIVE

As a Senior Accountant, you play a crucial role within our finance team, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, Accounting operations coordination ensuring efficiency and collaborating closely with various departments to support informed decision-making. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, with the monthly MIS Reports and monthly closures and accounting operations, you contribute to the organization\xe2\x80\x99s financial health by maintaining compliance with IFRS and UAE accounting standards and regulations

Responsibilities:

Financial Records Management: \xe2\x80\x93 Keep meticulous track of financial transactions, including purchases, sales, payments, and receipts.

\xe2\x80\x93 Record transactions using the company\xe2\x80\x99s accounting software and ensure up-to-date and accurate financial records.

\xe2\x80\x93 Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements weekly to ensure financial accuracy. Financial Reporting:

\xe2\x80\x93 Responsible for monthly preparation of monthly job closures and financial statements, including income statements and cash flow statements.

\xe2\x80\x93 Collaborate with the Finance Manager to generate Management Information System (MIS) reports, offering insights into the organization\xe2\x80\x99s financial performance.

Cash Flow Management:

\xe2\x80\x93 Forecast and budget company cash flow in adherence to UAE accounting standards.

\xe2\x80\x93 Play a role in maintaining the organization\xe2\x80\x99s financial stability through effective cash flow management.

Interdepartmental Collaboration:

\xe2\x80\x93 Work closely with departments such as sales and operations to accurately report financial data.

\xe2\x80\x93 Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and UAE regulatory requirements.

Tax Compliance:

\xe2\x80\x93 Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other mandatory government filings, adhering to UAE tax laws. Sales Invoicing Coordination:

\xe2\x80\x93 Ensuring Timely creation of invoices upon delivery/shipment completion for both Logistics & Trading Divisions.

\xe2\x80\x93 Coordinate the shipment process from cost validation to billing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Accounting Operations Coordination:

\xe2\x80\x93 Establish strong communication and collaboration within the department for effective operation within the department.

Reconciliation and Reporting:

\xe2\x80\x93 Perform monthly accounts reconciliation with agents and vendors to maintain accurate financial records and report to the Finance Manager.

Financial Procedures and Planning:

\xe2\x80\x93 Provide support in financial procedures, budgeting, and planning activities as directed by the Finance Manager.

\xe2\x80\x93 Analyze and execute regular weekly/monthly MIS reports, accompanied by actionable recommendations.

As a Senior Accountant, you hold a pivotal position in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and insightful reporting. Your contribution supports the organization\xe2\x80\x99s financial stability and strategic decision-making.

Candidate Specifications Qualifications and Knowledge:

\xef\x82\xb7 Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in accounting or finance

\xef\x82\xb7 Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in the UAE freight forwarding industry

\xef\x82\xb7 Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices in the UAE

\xef\x82\xb7 Experience with financial analysis and reporting in the UAE

\xef\x82\xb7 Proficiency with accounting software, such as Fresa, QuickBooks or SAP, UAE accounting software, such as Tally or Sage.

\xef\x82\xb7 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English.

\xef\x82\xb7 Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multicultural environment

\xef\x82\xb7 Strong attention to detail and accuracy in accordance with UAE accounting standards

\xef\x82\xb7 Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in accordance with UAE business practices.

Working Conditions:

The Senior Accountant for the UAE Freight Forwarding Industry will operate within an office setting and might need to work extended hours during busy times. There could be occasional travel to different company sites in the UAE. Decision Making :

Act in line with the approved policies and procedures. Provide recommendation on improvements.

Job Specific Training:

Analytical, Communication, MS office, FRESA (ERP) system.

Experience: Preferred 7-10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Final Accounting responsibilities under logistics with strong Fresa ERP Exposure.
