Responsible for surface preparation and spray painting of architectural metal components such as stainless steel, mild steel, aluminum, and galvanized items used in facades, handrails, claddings, and decorative metal works. Ensures high-quality finish, color uniformity, and durability in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, degreasing, sanding, masking, and priming metal components.
Mix paints, primers, and coatings as per manufacturer's technical data sheet (TDS).
Operate spray painting equipment (airless and conventional) safely and efficiently.
Apply primer, base coat, and topcoat finishes on fabricated or installed items.
Maintain required thickness (DFT) and finish quality (gloss, texture, color tone).
Conduct visual inspection to ensure uniform coverage and absence of defects (runs, drips, pinholes, etc.).
Perform touch-ups and refinishing as needed on site after installation.
Follow safety protocols regarding PPE, ventilation, and paint material handling (flammable substances).
Maintain spray guns, compressors, and tools in proper working condition.
Coordinate with QA/QC team for painting inspection, sample approval, and record keeping.
