Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specification Engineer to join our team in an architectural and fit-out company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural specifications, materials, and product sourcing within the construction and fit-out industry. They should also possess excellent technical knowledge and a passion for delivering high-quality projects. A valid driver's license is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Specification Development:

Prepare detailed and accurate specifications for construction and fit-out projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and building regulations.

Collaboration:

Work closely with architects, designers, project managers, and contractors to identify and source appropriate materials, finishes, and products for projects.

Technical Expertise:

Provide technical support and advice on product selection, installation procedures, and performance characteristics of materials and systems.

Documentation Management:

Maintain comprehensive records of all project specifications and related documentation, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible.

Quality Control:

Ensure that all materials and products meet required performance standards and specifications, and identify any potential issues before they affect project timelines or quality.

Client Liaison:

Assist in preparing product information for client presentations and help interpret client needs into clear, actionable specifications.

Vendor Coordination:

Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to gather product data, samples, and price information to aid in decision-making.

Compliance & Regulations:

Ensure that all specifications meet local building codes, safety regulations, and sustainability guidelines.

Site Visits:

Conduct site visits to inspect installation and ensure specifications are being met on-site.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Specification Engineer or in a similar role within the architectural and fit-out sector.

Technical Expertise:

Strong understanding of materials, construction methods, and product specifications specific to architectural and fit-out projects.

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and suppliers.

Problem-Solving:

Strong problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to offer practical solutions during project execution.

Organizational Skills:

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to tight deadlines.

Driver's License:

A valid driver's license is required to attend site visits and meetings.

Software Proficiency:

Experience with specification software and MS Office Suite; knowledge of CAD software is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

A degree or diploma in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. Knowledge of sustainability practices and green building certifications.
