Collaborate with Category Managers to implement procurement strategies that support shipyard operations, including new builds, conversions, and ship repair projects.
Build strong working relationships with production, planning, engineering, and logistics teams to accurately capture work order requirements and align procurement with project schedules.
Oversee supplier and subcontractor performance for shipyard-specific needs, including fabrication workshops, blasting & painting services, outfitting materials, and dockside equipment; resolve issues that could delay yard progress or impact vessel delivery timelines.
Lead RFx and competitive tendering processes for shipyard materials and services, from defining scope and specifications to bid evaluation and contract award.
Monitor material lead times and availability for key shipbuilding inputs, proactively identifying risks and implementing supply chain mitigation measures to avoid production delays.
Drive procurement efficiency by standardizing commonly used shipyard items, bundling similar requirements across projects, and conducting make-or-buy analyses for in-yard manufacturing vs external sourcing.
Draft, negotiate, and administer contracts and framework agreements for shipyard operations, ensuring clear delivery terms, penalty clauses, and alignment with project-specific needs and timelines.
Education & Professional Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent
Accredited Procurement / Supply chain certification is preferable.
Professional Experience:
Minimum 8 years of experience in the area of Procurement & Supply Chain Management as a buyer or in a similar role.

Language Skills:
Business fluent English is a must
Business fluent Arabic is preferred

Good knowledge of local and international Procurement laws and procedures;
Good knowledge of Supplier management techniques, procedures and policies;
Good knowledge of sources of supply, market trends and pricing practices;
Corporate / Supplier Management, Supplier Development Negotiations skills.
