Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SolidWorks Designer to join our design/engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating 2D and 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks, ensuring precision, functionality, and manufacturability of components and assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed 3D models and 2D technical drawings using SolidWorks. Prepare designs, layouts, and assemblies for manufacturing and production. Collaborate with engineers, production, and other departments to develop design solutions. Modify and revise designs based on feedback or technical requirements. Ensure designs meet industry standards, project requirements, and company specifications. Perform tolerance analysis and ensure proper fit and function of mechanical parts. Create Bill of Materials (BOMs) and associated documentation for production. Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field. Proven experience as a SolidWorks Designer or Draftsman (usually 2+ years preferred). Proficiency in SolidWorks and knowledge of other CAD software is a plus (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor). Strong understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and materials. Good knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in sheet metal, fabrication, or joinery design. Familiarity with PDM systems and engineering change processes. Knowledge of CNC manufacturing requirements is an advantage.
