Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented

Plastic Injection Mould Designer

with strong proficiency in

SolidWorks

to join our team at DPlast in

KEZAD, Abu Dhabi

. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of plastic mould design and injection moulding processes, and will be responsible for designing high-quality, cost-effective moulds that meet production and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

:

Design 2D and 3D models of injection moulds using

SolidWorks

Collaborate with production, tooling, and R&D teams to develop moulds that meet performance and manufacturing specifications Modify existing mould designs to improve efficiency or resolve manufacturing issues Analyse mold flow, cooling channels, ejection systems, and venting to optimise mold performance, minimise cycle times, and reduce defects. Generate detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and design documentation Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and ensure manufacturability Support mould fabrication and follow up on trial runs and validation Troubleshoot design-related issues during mould trials or production Maintain design and revision records Provide technical input during material selection, DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and feasibility studies

Requirements

:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree

in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Design, or a related field

3+ years of experience

in plastic injection mould design

Strong proficiency in SolidWorks

(3D modeling, assemblies, technical drawings) Knowledge of injection moulding machines, processes, and materials (especially thermoplastics) Experience with DFM, mould flow analysis (preferred), and CNC machining processes Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills Good communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience in

tool rooms or mould fabrication workshops
