What Does a Site Operations Engineer Do?
- Oversee daily site technical and maintenance activities in coordination with the line manager and field teams
- Ensure materials, equipment, and instructions are correctly issued and aligned with the project timeline
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, and prepare technical sketches when required
- Develop short-term work programs for site labor, tools, and timescales
- Serve as the direct liaison with clients or client representatives on project-related matters
- Track labor deployment and material usage through accurate recordkeeping
- Report deficiencies and ensure they are addressed in accordance with company quality procedures
- Maintain site practices that comply with Azizi's health and safety standards
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Manage site-based execution of engineering tasks to meet planned targets
- Coordinate with stakeholders to align technical delivery with quotations and project schedules
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with HSE requirements
- Support training programs and evaluate their effectiveness for staff and subcontractors
- Investigate and report incidents, near misses, or hazards and implement corrective measures
- Monitor emergency readiness and update safety response protocols as needed
- Maintain and update registers for materials, safety activities, and site performance
What Skills Are Needed for a Site Operations Engineer in Dubai?
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in site operations, maintenance, or construction engineering
Technical Skills:
- Ability to read, interpret, and produce engineering drawings and technical sketches
- Knowledge of HSE regulations, quality assurance procedures, and site documentation
- Familiarity with short-term planning for manpower and equipment allocation
